London trained Saira Peter sings Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s famous Sufi poetry in Opera style. She believes that Sufi singing is another form of Opera. In her album she translated Bhitai’s Sufi poetry in English and performed in Opera style. Peter believes that Opera singing and Sufi singing of Bhitai is always about unconditional love, humanity, brotherhood peace and tranquility. She is the first Opera singer to sing Bhitai’s poetry in Opera style.
In her interview with BBC Urdu she said that Opera itself is a whole drama in which every person in orchestra and opera singer plays an important role and create an environment itself which takes you away into a musical journey.
She can sings in French, Italian, German, English, Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi, as well as all Pakistani regional languages.
