On 5th February Kashmir solidarity day is observed to show Pakistan’s support and unity with the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiris and Pakistanis around the world also observe Kashmir Solidarity Day every year to extend moral support to people in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.


The consulate of Pakistan in Melbourne organised an event to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day in Melbourne on Saturday 5th Feb 2022. The program had some distinguished guests who highlighted atrocities are being committed by occupied forces in Kashmir. Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed addressed the attendees via Zoom link.
Counsel General Syed Moazzam Shah read out President and Prime minister of Pakistan’s messages. In their messages read out at the Melbourne Counsel event, Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the international community to “take practical steps to hold India accountable for its “gross human rights violations” in Kashmir and fulfill the promises made through the UN to the Kashmiri people.
Alvi and Khan reiterated that Pakistan would give full political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir until the issue is resolved in accordance with UNSC resolutions.
