The MCG, referred to as “the G” by Melburnian’s has hosts various international and domestic events. This summer brings lots of international and domestic cricket to big G. To mark the summer of cricket an event was organised by Cricket Australia to reach out to families who love cricket and offered them a day to remember with Pakistani and Australian cricket team.
It turns out to be an excellent sunny day where families enjoyed perfect summer outing with their favourite cricketers. Whether or not you were at MCG family day, the article with photos will tell how this huge day comes together.
The cricket lovers were running around to get the autographs and selfies with Pakistani and Australian team however the selfie was more popular then autographs. Every single fan was doing its best to take selfie with players. The players of both teams were very courteous and obliged to their fan demands. There were occasions when fans were screaming for their favourite players and once they come close to them, they were asking for selfie and forgetting old school autographs.
Cricket Australia with the help of its sponsors offered kids ride such as bungy jumping, slides and face painting. There were various food trucks which were offering hot food. There’s so many people from different backgrounds, so many people from different workplaces that understand what the cricket is about – It’s not just a game, it’s there to provide community to come close and have fun. It was a major community initiative that will see the Cricket Australia double its community outcomes and further enrich the lives of people.
