Dr. Zarrin S Siddiqui
President (Pakistan Association of Western Australia)
Pakistan Association of Western Australia sends an electronic newsletter to all its members every second Monday. As usual in the first issue of the March as per the Executive Committee decision we decided to look for people who have contributed significantly to the community in different fields. The idea was to acknowledge them in our upcoming event. ”Looking for PAWA stars” was thus circulated through the newsletter. Little I know that it will take less than a day to find the brightest star of all. It was late at night when I received a phone call from one of our members informing me of the unfortunate incidence that happened at Jurien Bay in morning.
He was a certified life saver and expert diver but that day the Almighty Allah has something else written for him in the water
mran Sattar has gone with his friends for a fishing trip not to come back again. An engineer by profession Imran came to Perth recently. The reason he chose Perth was beaches and ocean as water was his lifelong passion. As a certified life saver and expert diver he was well known in his circle and will not miss any chances to go fishing but that day the All mighty Allah has something else written for him. He did not buy a house in Perth but had a boat and four wheel drive to explore the ocean around WA.
I did not know him personally but during that week I got to meet a huge number of his friends and colleagues. People were coming from different mosques where he used to lead prayers and will often take food to share with them. All I heard during this terrible week of sadness was that he was the “best Muslim” and “best Pakistani” they have seen or come across.
One definitely can make a huge difference by their own behaviour and make others proud of them. The Pakistani community is so indebted with this young fellow who got education from Adelaide University and has lived in most parts of Australia leaving lasting impressions on Australian fellow beings as a god Muslim and Pakistani proving actions speak louder than words.
You will be sadly missed Imran. Innah Lillahe Wa Innah Illehe Rajeoon
